<CanoeBerry> proposal]
<dogi> like this
<Umber-Jade-98> I too like the XO but many are requesting?
<GrannieB2> This sounds like a nice project, but should have curriculum developed before getting that many machines
<GrannieB2> Can they develop using emulation?
<dogi> Server not found
<dogi>

<dogi> Firefox can't find the server at www.moonsoongrey.com.
<CanoeBerry> Applicant's well known pioneer, and good friend of Sameer, for what it's worth.
<Umber-Jade-98> that's a better idea, can not virtualize?
<dogi> http://elearningindia.org/ is a comming soon page
<CanoeBerry> Yep, she needs to fix that up.
<CanoeBerry> And update http://Moonsoongrey.com too.
<CanoeBerry> For now: http://monsoongrey.wordpress.com
<dogi> ty CanoeBerry
<dogi> this look better :)
<dogi> +s
<GrannieB2> Reading the time print... they are already working where there are 200 XOs that aren't being used. Why can't they start with some of those?
<CanoeBerry> Her blog's great, but hasn't been updated since Oct.
<GrannieB2> sorry.... fine print
<CanoeBerry> GrannieB2: are you sure 200 in the same site there, where are you reading exactly?
* Guest62746  Quit (Quit: CGI:IRC)
<GrannieB2> Under item 6 in the proposal: The one project at Merces in Goa with 200 XOs is the one this team has worked closely with and are trying to volunteer to continue to keep it going, by raising funds doing other paid assignments.
<GrannieB2> well... maybe they are getting some use... can't really tell
<GrannieB2> Same island: Goa
<GrannieB2> Can they start with the ones they have already?
<CanoeBerry> Who knows.
<CanoeBerry> If this project stands on its own 2 feet, and posts to http://olpcMAP.net, it can be considered like all others.
<CanoeBerry> Recent blogging and evidence of progress/potential is needed for sure.
<CanoeBerry> I'd give it a very tentative +1, and a full +1 if publishing on learning content moves forward.
<CanoeBerry> I'd give it a very tentative +1, and a full +1 if publishing OF learning content moves forward.
<GrannieB2> -1 until we know more about what they are doing already with what they have and why they need more machines
<Umber-Jade-98> -1 likewise do not really know
<CanoeBerry> Who says Goa's an island BTW?
<dogi> like CanoeBerry ... I hope in more web content
* KGMac  has joined #olpc-meeting
<CanoeBerry> KGMac: help us review Project #2 quick if you can, it needs support.
<dogi> tentative +1

<GrannieB2> sorry, not all of Goa... just part: We have already identified the school: St Bartholomew School on the Island of Chorao in Goa.
<CanoeBerry> OK, Chorao doesn't look like an island, but it must be part of the river's delta, I see.
<CanoeBerry> I think this project should be encouraged.
<CanoeBerry> If they publish, they deserve it.
<CanoeBerry> If not, they perish :)
<dogi> +1
<CanoeBerry> ANyway, they have work to do.
<CanoeBerry> Let's leave this as a split ballot/vote for now.
<GrannieB2> -1 for now
<CanoeBerry> Other votes?
<Umber-Jade-98> -1 for now
<CanoeBerry> We need to show them a path or two, rather than just be negative..
<CanoeBerry> Anyway, let's move on. They need to start by fixing/updating their sites.
<CanoeBerry> Calling once..
<CanoeBerry> Calling twice..
<CanoeBerry> Calling thrice..
<GrannieB2> They can start developing one small part of what they are proposing on the machines they have as proof of ability to carry out this very ambitions project
<CanoeBerry> SPLIT VOTE: project needs to update its sites & provide evidence it will publish on an ongoing basis, regardless.

<dogi> http://olpcjamaica.org.jm/
<dogi> without www.
<GrannieB2> I like that this one starts with training
<GrannieB2> Oh... naturally, Praig and Sameer are involved!
<CanoeBerry> GrannieB2: Beth/Waveplace was a different project, India's Goa should not be judged on arbitrarily similar content?
<Umber-Jade-98> I think he has a good start, since the priority is to train teachers in the use of the XO
<GrannieB2> Will this be a "OLPL" project?
<CanoeBerry> PS this project was pre-approved, and has already shipped, but is submitted for transparency purposes :)
