OLPC-NL Dutch Pilot

The first pilots in Dutch Schools have started in November 2008. Two schools in Maastricht twinning with 1 school in Nicaragua. More pilots are in development, also for visual impaired, dyslectic pupils, teleconsultation etc. See http://www.openwijs.nl/een-laptop-per-leerling-olpc. The not-for-profit foundation OpenWijs.nl is established to promote the concept of OLPC, to manage projects based on this educational concept and to broaden this concept to other target groups and regions. This foundation is not part of OLPC NL (grassroots group OLPC the Netherlands) but the people in the foundation are "member" of this group. If you want to start a project (in the Netherlands or abroad) or would like to order one or more XO's to test for your school, feel free to contact us.

In november 2008 zijn de eerste pilots gestard op scholen in Nederland. Twee scholen in Maastricht twinnen (samenwerking tussen 2 organisaties) met 1 school in Rama, Nicaragua. Meer pilots zijn in ontwikkeling, niet alleen in het reguliere basisonderwijs maar ook visueel gehandicapten, dyslectische leerlingen, teleconsultatie (op afstand medische hulp verlenen m.b.v. de webcam) etc. Zie http://www.openwijs.nl/een-laptop-per-leerling-olpc. De not-for-profit stichting OpenWijs.nl is opgericht om het concept OLPC te promoten, om OLPC projecten te managen en het concept te verbreden naar andere leersituaties (voortgezet en hoger onderwijs b.v.) en andere doelgroepen (b.v. volwassenen onderwijs). Deze stichting is geen onderdeel van OLPC NL maar de mensen in de stichting zijn wel "lid" van deze groep. Als je een project in Nederland of erbuiten wilt starten, of je wilt voor je onderwijsinstelling een of meerdere XO's bestellen, aarzel dan niet contact op te nemen!
Marten Vijn in Leiden heeft niet alleen een reparatiecentrum voor XO's maar leent ook XO's uit aan programmeurs en scholen. Zie www.martenvijn.nl
