Sugar vs XO shortcut keys

More categories may be necessary to distinguish features in Sugar, available to XO users with accessory keyboards, such as PrtScn. --FGrose 23:09, 30 October 2011 (UTC)

No, I don't think this is necessary. We don't provide accessory keyboards, though they do work. We provide an integrated keyboard. Sugar may wish to document shortcuts separately. If that is done we can remove the Sugar section of this table and link to the Sugar Wiki instead. --Quozl 00:02, 31 October 2011 (UTC)
Perhaps you could lobby for interwiki transclusion, such as http://wiki.sugarlabs.org/go/Template:Transclude, so that we could provide better integrated information. See also OLPC:Interwiki_map#Please fix sugar interwiki prefix. --FGrose 01:14, 31 October 2011 (UTC)
Perhaps you could do this. I don't see how it would be done or why the information would need to be better integrated. --Quozl 01:30, 31 October 2011 (UTC)

Trackpad recalibration

four fingered salute is a function of the embedded controller, and works at any level, not just sugar/system. not sure what is best way to express this. --Quozl 01:09, 4 October 2007 (EDT)

Accuracy of the list

Are these meant to document the currnet state of the system? Many seem to be incorrect; for instance, on my XO the "switch activity" function is bound to alt-tab rather than ctrl-tab, and the alt-space and alt-tilde functions are missing entirely (or at least, I haven't found what else they might be bound to). If this were Wikipedia I would've just edited the table, but I gather different norms apply on this forum. :) blahedo 00:17, 18 December 2007 (EST)

Second the motion. Authoritative source should update this misleading, easy to find page. On my G1G1 xo, alt-tab cycles thru all activities/instances in the same order the activity circle shows. Robby 12:20, 23 December 2007 (EST)

It's been a month and some shortcuts that don't work are still on the list, so I've added strikeout codes to them and pointed to this discussion. If I'm wrong, please fix the list and add a note here. Robby 10:24, 6 February 2008 (EST)

Hmmm.. I think that the shortcuts changed over time. Unless there are significant deployments with pre-C1 hardware, there is no reason to keep the old information. Anyone know deployments by hardware type? CharlesMerriam 12:47, 5 April 2008 (EDT)

Application Specific Shortcuts

What are the copy/paste shortcuts for the terminal application?

Although it would be nice to have activity-specific shortcuts here, that should probably be a documented under each activity on this wiki. --198.145.74.169 22:20, 19 December 2007 (EST)

Since solved with an additional section. --Quozl 00:02, 31 October 2011 (UTC)

Organizational standards?

I have found quite a number of other keystrokes.

(See User:IainDavidson/Notes )

But wasn't sure about order or standards for this page to add of them to this page.

Thoughts....

  • order by modifier key
  • order by function
  • order by most popular used to least used.
  • order by a) suger (general) b) specific differences per Activity.
  • link to each Activity which list specific Activity keyboard shortcuts

The real solution is having someone look through source code and examine actual keystrokes captured by key-press interrupts... so the list is actually complete. :-) --IainD 12:27, 2 January 2008 (EST)

Drop the "Maintained by the OLPC Team" monikor?

Any have any trouble with just dropping the OLPC Team maintenance and then writing better documentation on this?

Currently it reads "monitored by the OLPC team." --Quozl 00:02, 31 October 2011 (UTC)

View Source key?

Does this ever work in G1G1 laptop?

Yes, if you upgrade. --Quozl 00:02, 31 October 2011 (UTC)

Update for 8.2.0 / joyride

Some keyboard shortcuts have changed in 8.2.0 / joyride. I'm not sure how to update this page, as both sets of keyboard shortcuts will be released. Any tips? MartinDengler 21:29, 1 August 2008 (UTC)

Always document the current or next release. The page history is available if a previous release state is needed. --Quozl 00:02, 31 October 2011 (UTC)
