  1. Where can we find a list of the schools where those OLPC-XO's are being used, with their contact data? All I can find now is check out the OLPC google map: http://goo.gl/maps/fH7K4 But that doesn't show any contact data either and there's no way to contact "eben" who has set-up this map by clicking his google account there. 2. My father is visiting Cambodia april 1st 2009.He's one of the founders of Teachers withouth Frontiers - Belgium [1]. My wife is a Cambodian refugee who got stuck here in Belgium at the age of 6 and we have found back her parents. My father claimed some 1.000 € from his village's town council "Development Aid Fund" for villagers that want to support some project in a developing country. He brings it to a project of this foundation set-up by another Cambodian refugee living nearby our village: [www.cambodja.org]. On the same trip he is going to visit the family of my wife of course and maybe it might be useful to visit some of the OLPC-Cambodia project to see how his organisation could help there. --SvenAERTS 10:53, 23 February 2009 (UTC)
  3. Any reflections on why the 1000 XO kick off project didn't spin out in a full scale deployment? Especially given the emotional tie of the tie with the Negroponte family? Corruption beats it all? Thy --SvenAERTS 18:46, 27 November 2012 (UTC)
    1. After a chat with Guilia D'AMICO from OLPC at the HQ in USA, she can only imagine it might have to do that it was an experiment privately sponsored by Prof. NEGROPONTE and his wife with regular computers, XO's didn't exist yet. I conclude there is no emotional tie with the Negroponte family nor with OLPC. Or at least it hasn't been exploited further.--SvenAERTS 04:16, 19 January 2013 (UTC)
  4. My wife is an adopted Cambodian who got stranded in a Belgian hospital in 1976, where she was sent to undergo a treatment with 10 other Cambodian kids sponsored by the ngo "Terre Des Hommes". None could go back as genocidery Pol POT closed the borders. We've found back her family. One of the family members understood apparently the teaser I sent over to invest in the OLPC-XO deployment as a Ministry of Education or as a strong person willing to sponsor such an education project. Because of same age and having studied in the same university as a couple of the ministers, he's been able to pitch it to the minister. I've been asked by some ministers to come over and discuss some of the projects I've proposed - OLPC-XO, Point-of-Use Water Treatment, Point-of-Use Electricity generation, Waste-to-bales-to-buildings. We're going to undertake another try to pitch OLPC with the Ministry of Education and a plan of action. We'll be in Cambodia from 2013-03-26 till 2013-04-07.
