This reminds me of the Simfarm game.
- That's SimFarm (Wikipedia). The game is probably not as realistic as one might want for educational purposes. --Fasten 15:00, 26 October 2007 (EDT)
- I have SimFarm, and was never able to do well. I always went bankrupt in 5 years or so. I did fine on all the other Sims. Reading about real life farmers, the bankruptcy may be realistic. Our American economic system seems to hate small scale farming. --Stuart Gathman 20:09, 12 January 2008 (EST)
- I've been looking for something exactly like this for the OLPC (or any other platform, for that matter). Farming here in New Mexico is rather marginal, similar to many of the OLPC target market. If such an application were to be made, I would not only use it, but would also actively assist in development. BTW, you're not the only one that had issues with SimFarm. I couldn't even get past the second year on SimFarm either, despite doing very well in the other Sim games. Nonetheless, I still manage to turn a small profit on less than four acres while feeding the household. --Ray Calkins 12:44, 12 December 2008 (MDT)
