[edit] Rewrites. Is it still pending?
I'm removing the pending tag. I added much material. There are a few corners that may be inaccurate and I welcome proofreaders. I'll also move the random pending comments here.

- What about LINGUA.in - or something like that - and other Fedora files?.

- We are using ISO 639-1 and ISO 639-2... at some point we may have to worry about languages not covered by these lists.
