Timeline view of the Journal

Design

The goal of this design is to replace the Journal list view with one that allows the user to visualize time spatially, and see how their activities fit in to the picture.

The current journal view places activity instances the same distance apart in a standard list view, so while they are sorted by time, it's hard to get a sense of when things happened.

Annotated Sketches

This view shows the history of all activity instances in a right to left, timeline form. Toolbar buttons would allow zooming in and out. Clicking on an activity instance would focus it in the details pane above. Alternately, we could remove the details pane and use the context menus from the "home view" when the activity icons are right clicked on.
