If you don't have a laptop - see if you can install Sugar on your own machine, or prepare a liveCD or Sugar on a USB Stick.
If you don't have an [[XO]] laptop, you can emulate the current build of the OLPC environment — Fedora 9 + Sugar + core activities — on your existing computer by running a [[Live CD]] or running one of our [[OS images]] under [[emulation]].

The Melbourne XO Club will meet monthly to do testing, hacking and general activities around the OLPC. Announcements are made through the OLPC Friends mailing list.

Many thanks to the Welly NZ Testers who have created such a great model for OLPC testing.

Plans for this week

First Meeting

When: 1-5pm - Saturday 20 December

Where: Sharwood Room, Trinity College, Parkville (Royal Parade, University of Melbourne)

How: Enter Via pedestrian Gate B - head left towards the College Oak Tree, turn right in the Clarke's cloister, head past the Junior Common Room to The Sharwood Room, which looks like a little chapel.

Transport: Trams on Royal Parade and Swanston Street, Busses on Grattan Street. Train to North Melbourne Station and take the 401 Bus to Grattan St or Train to Melbourne Central and Trams on Swanston and Elizabeth go to the University.

Parking: Limited on Royal Parade.
