Pressure

Hi Patrick, Thank you for performing the user study and advancing the Pen Tablet design. Several observations have been made relating to the pressure threshold level for the pressure-sensitive mode of the tablet. How does the pressure threshold compare to other pressure-sensitive tablets? What elements of the design, materials, construction, or software influence the pressure sensitivity?

The extra force required seems to lead to learning problems, and could easily lead to tissue fatigue and possible injury on overuse. Seems that this issue should be investigated to guide the development of future hardware and software. --FGrose 19:54, 1 May 2008 (EDT)

There's definitely an issue with how hard you have to press on the tablet. I don't know whether this is a hardware constraint or just a driver issue. In the firmware tests (booting with one of the gamepad keys down), I don't remember it being any better, so that might mean that it's an issue with the hardware.

The pressure required is a lot more pressure than a conventional tablet. It would be interesting to know why. --pdubroy 10:18, 8 May 2008 (EDT)
