Project Idea and Outcomes:

Meera, will be a small explorer girl that will be help the child in tour of Pakistan. This tour will be animated and will be interactive that will give guided tour and will ask question before moving forward to next location. She will educated the child about the provinces, natural resources and historical landmarks.

First outcome: Software Application that will have animated tour of Pakistan. The second outcome will be a Lesson Plan for Teachers and Teaching Aides for Geography for primary levels. Third out come will be a student book, assignments and additional learning material.

Team Members My name is Usman Nasir. I teach at International Islamic University Islamabad where OLPC Pakistan has an office. After having discussion and talks with Dr Habib (Chief of Party Pakistan) I came up to some viable ideas. Here is an introduction to my team

Team: NAMSU Usman Nasir Lecturer, IIUI (usman.nasir@iiu.edu.pk) Teacher, Trainer, Consultant Usman will be contributing over eight years of Teaching and Training experience with extensive software development knowledge to this team. Usman has extensive development experience in Java and C++. Before joining IIU as Lecturer in Deptt of Computer Sciences, Usman lead a team of developers for ERP Implementation. Usman has one year of experience of working for UN-WFP Pakistan where he worked as Assistant Program Officer for implementation of school feeding program. His leadership will be used for project planning and execution.

Marriam Usman Nasir. Teacher Primary ACE International Academy Islamabad. Teacher, Trainer and Curriculum Developer Marraim Usman brings over five years of Teaching and Training experience in Web Application Development, Website development tools, Animations and Primary teaching.She holds a Bachelors Degree in Computer Sciences and Diploma in Graphics, Fabric and Creative design. Marriam was recently involved in Curriculum development for Mubarak Academy (A project of Al-Nahayan Trust UAE for Earthquake effect orphans). She was instrumental in development of ICT and Mathematics Curricula for primary level and designed all book covers. She is currently engaged in ACE International Academy Islamabad as a Teacher for geography, mathematics for primary levels and ICT Curriculum developer. She will be leading the development effort in Animations and will be preparing curriculum for the project.

Salman Nasir Branding Manager, Soch Productions Islamabad Graphic Designer, Animator Salman is youngest but most enthusiastic team member. He is a graduate in Multi Media Arts from Pakistan’s primer art school, NCA Lahore. He is well versant with 3Dmax, Mays, Adobe Premier and Photoshop tools. Salman will be developing the character and will be working as animator. He is keen to learn on Open and Free Source development tools.
