makes reading and learning attractive for the digital age.

The Papillon method transforms digital "static" books and texts in unique dynamic worlds of experiences.

How to design textbooks flexible with exciting effects and how to give the text more originality?

Of the various applications of Papillon-method, here two examples:

How authors can create interactive online books

  • In a digital text you can mark a word or passage, that you want to make to a topic.
  • Put behind the topic different links [1] [2] [3] which light up your topic from all sides and from different perspectives. Interconnecting and combine the topic as much as you can. Interdisciplinary thinking desired.
  • Deepen the issue multidisciplinary e.g.

earth: appetizer[1] astronomy [2] [3] [4] definition [5] geology [6] [7] current volcano[8] environment [9][10] one-planet future [11] [12] [13] different cultures [14]

  • Find the best links, which represent the topic in a vivid and understandable way. This could be well structured web pages, as well as videos, audios, images...
  • Be creative, be "Einstein". Create your own world, the world you are interested in.

Example Prototype

5. Kofur, the Demon of Evil

One will be measured according to what one has achieved, not according to what one has destroyed.

The next day was very hot. Not the faintest breeze was felt. Prince Aron was just in the midst of overtaxing his treasurer [15] [16] [17] [18] with his plans. “Edifices convey a message,” he made fun of the narrow-minded official who refused to expend a single penny without being coaxed. Aron felt it necessary to distract the parsimonious official's attention from the depleted coffers with the grandiosity of his design. “The message of our sun palace proclaims: The Sun remains and the sun palace praises the sun's immortality. The eyes of the Nubians will light up when they see my monumental work, [19] [20] [21] [22] [23] [24] a work that surpasses any other, for I shall erect the highest tower. It will be topped by a golden sphere that captures the rays of the sun and makes them gleam like a diamond. People shall be astounded by the golden spire that shines at them from afar like the sun itself. “What this will cost!” moaned the treasurer. “And all for a little amazement.” “For now, two hundred sun thaler will suffice,” the prince snarled at the treasurer.

Following this altercation, Aron ran immediately to his flowers. He wanted to forget about it as quickly as possible and hoped for a bit of rest for his agitated mind. But he had not yet calmed down and, therefore, chewed out the thirsting lilies: “Where's the wind? I can't stand this searing heat 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 any longer.”

“Go to the unfinished third tower. We saw the demon Kofur.” Then they let their heads drop. When Aron heard the news, he was filled with ill foreboding. Kofur was the messenger of evil, the messenger of Ozelot, an eagle who penetrated the darkness with his two heads and six eyes. The prince ran as quickly as he could to the third palace tower. There he saw Kofur. Evil and menacing, he sat on the highest turret of the unfinished tower. As he got closer, the prince saw that Kofur was holding the wind on a leash while he grunted: “All that comes into being deserves to perish.”

Aron, who knew this famous poet's saying, was greatly alarmed. He saw Kofur tightening the noose around the wind's neck, making him cry out in pain. That's exactly what Kofur intended. The little storm made the part of the just finished tower collapse.

“Stop it, you miscreant!” yelled Aron. “Don't you know how much work goes into building a tower?”

“But, of course,” croaked the eagle scornfully. “That's why it's such fun to destroy it. I can only destroy, not create.”

How to create a professional tool

To come out with innovative online-books a platform needs more features, e.g software development, which makes a fast, simple and separate application of the Papillon method for all digital texts available.

What to do in order to improve the simple solution 1, 2, 3 from the example of the prototype? Imagine, you go by cursor on a keyword and a window or a treadmill will open. In that you have placed content (websites), or content in textbooks on the subject are given by the teacher, an authority or publisher.

For software developer, I think this is a simple task and they have better and more creative ideas than I do.

Here's my proposed solution:

  • In a digital text one can mark a word or passage (such as when copying a text) that you want to take on the topic.
  • Then you click on an integrated button in the tool bar, e.g. with the name “Papillon". It opens a window. There one can store links, that should be linked with the keyword. (Principle how to store my favorites)
  • With the registration into the "Papillon" window and the OK confirmation closes the window and the key word or passage in the manuscript is marked in bold or colored.
  • If you read the text now and click on the marked text passage, for example, could a treadmill appear with the stored web pages in an image format (see, eg,

[25]

  • Through clicking on the picture you come direct to the website and thus to the content. An attractive design would be advantageous.

Please, make a better proposal.

Advantage Links are stored directly in words or passages. This means, when digital texts are interwoven with interactive words, then you can experience books and texts. Unlike static text, you can go into the depth of topics and enrich them with photo spreads, animations and video messages. The consideration of the topic from different perspectives provides new insights. If you can build yourself videos and in-depth information in a text, is achieved a high degree of emotionality. Learning and reading becomes an event.

Such a tool makes digital "static" e-texts dynamic and interactive. The result is a new style of book-format and an inexhaustible added value to the content and fascination. A group of people is achieved which one doesn't reach with traditional books and analog learning.

I would be happy, to transmit my experience to the professional implementation of the Papillon-method, because this method opens up the chance of much more significant applications.
