An Open Software Project is a project where a multi-disciplinary group of people together develop a specific software - e.g. Linux, Open Office, Sugar, etc. - that is evolving thanks to the free time, energy and competences that are available in society and in that group.

Bringing Universal Primary education via the XO laptop is an initiative using such Open Software. And in the international not for profit OLPC, a group of people have organized themselves to organize that Open Community Initiative.--SvenAERTS 08:52, 16 May 2012 (UTC)
