A VGA adapter is rather expensive, and not as useful as a TV adapter. TV output has recently become cheap (witness the rash of cheap game-in-a-joystick systems at toy stores), using similar display hardware could work. A microcontroller connected to the USB port would easily handle regular Linux text displays, and at least be an aid in debugging.

The general impression at this point is that USB2VGA dongles don't work on the XO, but I don't understand why that would be, so I picked one up to experiment with. I'll document my work here.

Thats great news. Is there a way I can contact you? I have some samples for USB to VGA you could work with if you like... 217.33.237.167 10:03, 11 January 2008 (EST)
