Schools as second-hand owners with limited usage time

In Germany computers have a tax write-off duration of three to five years. With a projected usage time of about three to five years there would be a large supply of used machines for this purpose. Old machines are frequently donated to schools. If schools would restrict their own usage time (e.g. to one year) and donate the machines in parts for the purpose of re-assembly in third world countries that could create a continual stream of used computer parts. At the same time this could motivate the pupils to from a voluntary computer support group to maintain the existing computer pools. --Fasten 14:36, 10 March 2007 (EST)
