Introduction

We're an official repair center for OLPC hardware.
Union Tech Coop is a worker-owned and operated technical services business.
We assist organizations and indivduals with hardware, software and networking.
We specialize in solutions built using free and open source software.

Prices

We've just become a repair center and we'll post more details soon.
We provide free estimates for all of our clients.
Our initial offer is for free labor, you cover parts and shipping.

Repair Process

1. Contact us by phone or email and let us know you need help. We'll create a support Ticket so you can track the status of your repair.
2. Send us your OLPC. Be sure to include your full name, return shipping address, phone number and email address.
3. We'll contact you via phone and email within 5 business days with a free estimate.
4. If you choose to proceed with the repair you'll send us a payment for any necessary hardware and return shipping. We'll complete the repair ASAP and ship the OLPC back to you when it is finished.
5. If you choose not to proceed with the repair you'll send us a payment for return shipping. We'll ship the OLPC back to you.

Alternatively, you can choose to re-donate the failed hardware back to the OLPC project.
We'll disassemble the failed OLPC and use any salvagable components to repair other OLPCs going forward.
If we can build up an inventory of spare hardware, we may be able to offer free hardware from our stock in the future as well.

Stock

Our plan is to have a fully stocked repair kit with known good parts on hand at all times.
We'll probably wait until we have our first OLPC in for repair to place the order for the repair kit hardware, so please expect your repair to take a few additional business days if you become our first repair client.
