These instructions are a specialised version of the Autoreinstallation image page for upgrading from build 542 to build 656.
Creating the upgrade key
- Get a blank USB key
- Download olpc-auto.zip
- Unpack it in the root of the USB key; it will create a boot/ directory
- Download os656.img and [1] and put them in the boot/ directory on the USB key
- Unmount the USB key and remove it
