Animal health

Mika, Thanks for the note on Talk:Animal health. I read your user page and it seems we're pretty much the same boat, just trying to figure out the best way to make a contribution. For now, I'd say grab onto anything that jazzes you and mark it up on the wiki page (add more wikipedia links to relevant species, identify and/or contact additional NGOs, chip in an idea that I've left off entirely, whatever). I'm going to start with contacting Heifer and generally fleshing out the core idea of the bundle and how it might branch out, but I'm working a pretty demanding job and this content bundle will never come together unless other volunteers jump in, so any contributions are welcome. Nutrition

I just dropped a content link on the Nutrition page that you might find interesting. Cjl 01:23, 18 March 2008 (EDT)

I was thinking that you'd be interested in the UN links to school lessons. I did add the Food Force link as well, but you'll have to contact them, I'm not working on that. From looking at their meeting notes it looks like Muriel Godoi is the person to contact. Cjl 12:46, 18 March 2008 (EDT)

Jam in NYC

Hi, Mika! We'd love to have you on board for the Jam in New York. Did you want to help coordinate, or come in and participate and do a project (maybe some intersection between Health and Communication - helping to spec out and define what kind of channels there should be for what kinds of Health-related information in which situation, so we have a clearer idea of what kinds of things need to be created for a useful Health deployment), or something else entirely? I'll try to catch you on IRC about this, but we can talk about it on the wiki as well. :) Mchua 14:54, 18 March 2008 (EDT)

Yay, Mika! I think the pre-planning part is mostly taken care of now, but we'll need plenty of help corralling people at the event itself, and it would be fantastic to have someone sync up with UNICEF on their health projects - they have one for community mapping that looks a lot like this. If you (and Mako, and anyone else you can drag along) can make it down, just fill out the registration form for Story Jam New York (the registration link is large and on the top). This is mostly so we can tell security who they should be letting through the door - it should take about 5 minutes to type up, at most. Thanks for offering to help! Mchua 15:30, 26 March 2008 (EDT)
That should work out great - looking forward to seeing you there! You should be able to catch the UNICEF folks on Friday night, or Saturday morning if they're really busy Friday night. (also, reminderping to register if you haven't yet ;-) Mchua 18:07, 26 March 2008 (EDT)
No worries - in case you do end up making it, my phone number is 847.970.8484 in case you need to get in touch with someone at the Jam. If you can't make it, ping me on IRC tomorrow morning (or call me) and I'll try to hook you up with the UNICEF folks remotely. We'll be in #nyc-jam (I'll also be on #olpc-content and #olpc-health as usual). Thanks for the heads-up! Mchua 11:23, 28 March 2008 (EDT)
