Learning projects website
learning.laptop.org is going to host submissions of projects and screencasts from XO and Sugar users.
Engagement
Through the lists, encourage people to:
- post projects on website (site members)
- administrate content (site admins)
- develop backend (site (dev?)admins)
- develop theme (add to git group)
- maintain server (ssh accounts)
Notes on Drupal instance
Using Drupal modules to manage a large group of submitters?
Server scalability
User submitted contributions
- scaling issues? server/template performance hangup: memory.
- Image uploading: gives you a file browser with delete/move privs.
Documentation
Helping teachers who haven't used the web much find and create materials. Examples of "how to" upload and search.
Backups
phpmyadmin for db backups. shell scripts? for template and other backups. This should be cronned somehow -- by the hosting provider? If backups are good, access to admin-group can be fluid. Access to git-commit group /really/ can be fluid [making this easy to become part of will help Drupal hackers tackle the code]
how to keep entire instance/code in git?
