Hi Martin et al,

Adding some detail to these to help explain what they are and hopefully break it in to smaller tasks. I can move this to the main page or to new pages for each if you think its useful. I'm not sure what was intended in all sections so any more detail on goals will help break it down.

I recommend that a more robust mechanism to update activities stored on the XO's be added to release 0.2 or 0.3. It is currently unclear how to update a particular activity to a new version across many XO's. Berrybw 10:48, 23 March 2008 (EDT)

Hi Martin et al,

Adding some detail to these to help explain what they are and hopefully break it in to smaller tasks for release 0.3. I'm not sure what was intended in all sections so any more detail on goals will help. If you can say exactly what you want to do in each area, I think we can get more people to work on it.

  • Backups

Backup and restore of user data on XO
Backup config and user data from XS to other server
FYI Tony wrote some scripts for this. This design was for a cache server and an XS to back each other up.

  • Install config

GUI or scripts to configure network (gateway and routing AKA edit IPtables)
FYI Tony already wrote scripts to do this. His design broke it in to two scripts, one for a server doing caching and the other for the XS to do routing:

GUI or scripts to configure DHCP
GUI or scripts to configure DNS
