Core Staff

The full-time staff is currently in the Boston area (and making good use of OLPC resources!).

Chris Carrick

Chris is a recent graduate of Olin College. He intends to put his mechanical engineering degree to good use by working on an off-grid charger for the XO. Nikki's lolcat illustrations of staff members pegs him as "surprisingly normal", though we'll see about that. He'll also be managing transportation related things at the Chicago office.

Mel Chua

Mel doesn't sleep nearly enough. We are hoping to enforce mandatory sleep hours for everyone's health and well-being. She does too many things to be effectively listed here, so I'll let her deal with her biography section appropriately. She is currently OLPC's grassroots intern. Fitting, then, that's she's dragged the rest of us into this ILXO venture! She'll be working primarily on the community side of things, and hobnobbing with all the other existing Illinois groups.

Andrea Lai

Andrea just finished her first year at Olin College. She's wondering how she got involved in this gig, given that she'll probably pursue bioengineering (then again, plenty of things can change). She is going to be working on a science education kit to accompany the XO after finding out how intriguing (if not terrifyingly time-consuming) curriculum development can be. She'll also be managing website stuff and other internet-y things this summer.

Nikki Lee

Nikki will be a junior at Olin College. She will be pursuing signal processing applications for the XO (yay, motion detection!) after learning about a bunch of this stuff in Signals & Systems. She likes to pat people on the head, do martial-artsy things, and do standard artsy drawing things. She gets to run the office! (Enforced fun time is impending...) P.S. She designed the nifty ILXO logo. Whee, grassroots!
