Answer the basics:
A team of teachers from UMF's Master's Cohort, accompanied by undergraduate students majoring in education and technology, will travel to Zambia from June to August to deploy 100 laptops at the Cheshire Community Care Center located in Kaoma, Zambia..
The team will work daily with the selected population. Living quarters are adjacent to the orphanage.
The local partner is the WISE organization, Women Iniatives that Strengthen and Empower. This partner is based in Readfield, Maine.
The selected population will be given a kit of laptops and digital cameras (Flips) to make movies. The laptops will go to the 12 year olds, the cameras to the 8 year olds, and all ages in between must be cast in the films. The films should be documentary oral histories.
