Our primary NGO contact based in Mauritania is a Peace Corps volunteer and has worked extensively with the Girls Mentoring Centers. She assures us that each GMC has one or more volunteers who serve as technical support to the computer and other multi-media courses offered at the GMCs. In some cases these are Peace Corps volunteers who have earned prior degrees in computer or technology fields; in others, it is Mauritanian volunteers who are aware of the technology needs of specific GMCs. She is aware that our team does not have a tech lead applying for deployment and has guaranteed that ample tech support will be provided at each site we work at.
