Pashto files have just been updated according to the new glossary released by ACSA.
As of this writing the Pashto localization is ***ON HOLD*** as the Pashto computer glossary from the Ministry of Communication and IT is not yet revised to be understandable by children. For the moment we are therefor using Dari.

==Custom Image==

For the second pilot deployment the [[Image_builder]] is used to generate a custom image. All the school books, other library contents and custom activities are bundled with the image. Since some of the customization are not possible directly in the build environment, a startup script is included in the image which performs additional customizations and deletes itself when finished.

A developer key is obtained from OLPC and is injected to our XOs which let us install our custom image on them.

Keyboard Setup

/etc/sysconfig/keyboard to contain:

KEYTABLE="us"
XKB_MODEL="olpc"
XKB_LAYOUT="af,us"
XKB_VARIANT="fa-olpc,olpc2"

Hit Ctrl+Alt+Erase to restart sugar and one should now be able to use the keyboard switching key (english only keyboards the times and divide key)

Localized Files (from Pootle)

As translation is ongoing one might need to check for syntax errors in the files:

msgfmt --check <pathtopofiles>

  • Download Sayamindu's updated locales file and unpack:

wget http://dev.laptop.org/~sayamindu/locale-archive.bz2 bunzip2 locale-archive.bz2 mv locale-archive /usr/lib/locale

(This is only for 8.2.0 - this will be fixed in 8.2.1)

  • Copy gtk20.mo to /usr/share/locale/ps/LC_MESSAGES/
