The OLPC program has been around since 2005 the first big orders of Laptops is due to be shipped with in the next year or sooner! There is not alot of news lately about Libya and the OLPC program in the news. But I am sure everyone will be pleased when the laptops arrive! |

[2006-12-10] NY Times article on OLPC and Libya
Markoff was wrong. It's not a contract, it's a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). Great news, nonetheless.
"The newly formed OLPC4Libya committee...was presented with the outline of a comprehensive plan to distribute the laptops, create connectivity and server infrastructure, and prepare teachers and students."
