Q. I am a college professor in Northern California who teaches several online classes in literature, film and theatre and would like to contribute my ideas to OLPC. I also worked for several years as an elementary school teacher and am a strong believer in children learning by doing and exploring. How can I help in a more direct way with OLPC?

== Most of these sources are not useful for OLPC ==

The main problem with these sources is that they are Internet sites which are not accessible to OLPC users.

A secondary problem is that it is not easy to get a book from one of these sites because you need to have a certain amount of skill and technical knowledge to figure out how to copy a book into your own computer in a format that is usable on an OLPC laptop.

A third problem is that many of these books are not appropriate for kids, i.e. too hard to read.

The solution is for volunteers to download copies of these books, convert them into a format that is readily supported by [[Evince]], the OLPC ebook reader, and package them up with some information to help kids choose a book. This would be things like the language, subject category, reading level and a brief summary of the book contents.
