EXPERIENCE MAKES A MAN PERFECT

This was my feeling after the end of the 4 day OLPC workshop conducted by KMR-DBF Foundations at Hyderabad.
Previously when I attended my 1st workshop at Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education ,I got to know the XO and its activities .i felt like a child who was exposed to a new toy and trying to learn its new activities. But the 2nd workshop led me to the insight of these activities and made me the advocate of open source OS.

Thanks to KMR-DBF for giving an opportunity to understand the system properly and its efficacy .

If I have to say about the workshop,it showed that the teachers and children of the underprivileged or municipal/government run schools are as enthusiastic as any urbane teacher to implement the newer technological way of learning. The keeness of Mrs.Roopa and Mrs.Roja in learning and trying to understand the newer concepts was infectious. It vanished away the myth that the teachers at these schools do not teach properly or do not have any inclination towards teaching newer concepts or for that matter do not accept new methods of teaching. The children were aware of computer but yes lacked in knowing about its uses (unable to use for not having it).
These 4 days was not only an eye-opener but was also exhilarating especially for me .
