Has anyone considered using this for the school servers? http://www.fit-pc.com/new/index.php

Low power consumption, water/dirt resistant, and seemingly powerful enough for this application. Would just have to be outfitted with a wireless adapter.

Use eSata as the way of adding external storage.

It is way faster, cheaper and more reliable that USB.
