A classmate and I are trying to build upon your source code and make a maze based game that also implements math concepts. http://wiki.sugarlabs.org/go/Math4Team/RIT/Projects/Math_Maze I've run into a problem where the manifest asks for a tubeconn.py file that isn't included in the source code. Bundles I create by removing that item from the manifest don't seem to work correctly after being installed. Any help would be appreciated. kdh7733 19:12, 11/9/2009 (EST) |

Just wanted to say thanks - this is a nice, simple, but easy to understand game. My 4 year old has spent quite a bit of time playing it and learning how the keyboard arrow keys map to behavior on the screen. We also used it in tablet mode to learn how the tablet keys do the same. I haven't noticed the problems others have mentioned with screen rotation, and we haven't played more than one player (we have a second XO, might need the upgraded activity) - but we'll keep an eye out and let you know if we have any problems. Meanwhile, thanks. It's a nice piece. Simple, but there's more to it. KayTi 15:30, 31 January 2008 (EST) |

Playing with two laptops, or two people on the same laptop adds lots of fun. I'm glad to hear your kids are enjoying it. My daughter loves it too. jminor 02:46, 2 February 2008 (EST) |

My daughter first started understanding the arrow keys at age 3. It would be nice if there was a slow mode which didn't jump the player to the next choice point. Jpritikin 00:04, 3 February 2008 (EST) |

Wow, what a fun game. My wife and I just went through something like 30-40 levels in two player mode. :) We couldn't get the networked version to stay in sync, but the single-laptop version is fine; fun to imagine three (or more) kids gathered around a single XO. Help Compiling
Any help would be appreciated. kdh7733 19:12, 11/9/2009 (EST)
Two players
I couldn't work out how to make the game work with two XOs. One can invite the other to the game, and both can share with their neighborhood, but how does one connect? Jeremymiles 01:08, 27 December 2007 (EST)
When you share with the neighborhood, then the 2nd person will see a Maze icon in their neighborhood view (if they also have Maze installed). Clicking on the Maze icon in the neighborhood view will let them join the activity. If you invite them directly, then a different colored Maze icon appears on the left end of the row of icons on the bottom of the frame. Clicking that will accept the invitation. When new players join then there will be more than one dot in the maze. You can race to the end. A few seconds after the first person solves the maze, then everyone will jump to the next maze.
If you are having trouble getting sharing to work with Maze, try sharing a Chat activity to make sure that it is working in general. If you still can't get Maze sharing to work, let me know. jminor 02:38, 27 December 2007 (EST)
Thanks for this game
Thanks for this game. It's a fun game my 4yo loves to play. As for the requested feedback, the game does not respond to the touchpad arrows. Rotation is somewhat interesting. Once rotated 90 or 180 degrees, the screen goes gray until you -/+ the maze. It does this each time the screen is rotated. The game does not resize or scroll and is therefor not playable at 90 degrees (non-landscape).When rotated 180 degrees, the arrows work in opposite direction; up is down, down is up, left is right, right is left. I'm not sure what's going on with the 90 degree rotation. Seems to move irregularly. My daughter is playing right now, so I can test a bit more later.
Thanks, v3 and higher support the gamepad keys. jminor 03:24, 29 January 2008 (EST)
Nice, fun, good intro to keyboard and tablet mode

Slow Mode?
