Alabama, a state of 4.5 million people in the Located in::United States. It hosts the first large-scale deployment of XOs within the US, in Birmingham.

A deployment across Birmingham's early primary schools began in early 2008, and is scheduled to complete its delivery of laptops by the fall. See OLPC Birmingham for more details.
User groups
As of June 2008, the Birmingham user group is small but growing.
