XO Liberation Development

Mission

The XOLD was a repair, research, and development group formerly operating out of beautiful Battery Park City in lower Manhattan. It has sadly closed as of September, 2009.

Resources

The XOLD offered both hardware and expertise. Past accomplishments:

  • Supported a Cambridge-area pilot with a loan of 16 XO-1 laptops.
  • Developed enhanced camera test routines for the XO.
  • Developed an instant snapshot tool which can run as an almost-unnoticeable part of the boot process.
  • Repaired over 60 laptops, mainly with broken clocks.
  • Attached VGA ports to 2 MP-series laptops.
  • Tested new SiS USB VGA adapters for compatibility - Success!
  • Established a lending library of XO-1 laptops for developer use and community outreach.
