This knowledge tree is currently being used to collect all relevant information for the next release of the deployment guide. Once it is sufficiently complete it will be simplified and consolidated to create a more concise knowledge tree for incorporation into the deployment guide. Until that time, provides a useful reference of all pages or sites out there that could be useful in helping people with future deployments.

This page is work in progress as part of the Improving the Deployment Toolkit project. Please don't edit the structure of this page yet as we are in the process of gathering information and structuring it. Please do add entries for additional pages you think should fit into this structure and share ideas and feedback with us in the discussion page

This page collects together references to other pages in the wiki and external websites of relevance to the Deployment Guide and structures them into a knowledge tree. This is the first step in collecting material for the next release of the deployment guide. Once this activity is complete we will consider which pages should be merged or cross referenced. For example, there is significant knowledge buried in discussion pages in a conversational style that could be incorporated into the main page as clear guidance. We will be exploring this and other techniques for making information easier to find in this wiki.

What is a knowledge tree? A knowledge tree is a hierarchical list of knowledge categorised according to some schema for organising that knowledge. This knowledge tree is specifically for knowledge relating to a deployment. For that reason, it has been categorised according to a hierarchy corresponding to the process for a deployment. The idea is that the knowledge is presented in the order it would naturally be used during a deployment.

What is the purpose of this knowledge tree? This knowledge tree is currently being used to collect all relevant information for the next release of the deployment guide. Once it is sufficiently complete it will be simplified and consolidated to create a more concise knowledge tree for incorporation into the deployment guide. Until that time, provides a useful reference of all pages or sites out there that could be useful in helping people with future deployments.

Where items in the knowledge tree are just text that does not yet link to a page in this wiki or elsewhere, this represents an area of knowledge thought to be of use at that point in the deployment process that we should find or create a page for.
