I've checked the linked manual for the VX855 and not found a mention of VESA. Does the XO-1.5 video hardware support VESA? If so, a citation to a document would help. Thanks, [[User:Peasthope|Peasthope]] 21:58, 26 March 2013 (UTC) |

Which of the VESA standards are you looking for? For instance, VESA Display Power Management Signaling is implemented in our software rather than video hardware, since there is no display connector present. --[[User:Quozl|Quozl]] 03:47, 27 March 2013 (UTC) |

Aos has no driver for the VX855 but there is a driver for VESA 2.0 and 3.0. If one of these is supported I will study further. :::It is still not clear, but you probably mean the [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VESA_BIOS_Extensions VESA BIOS Extensions] standard. If so, the short answer is no. The long answer is that there are several components involved in a video display system, and while the VX855 can comply with VBE 2.0, the XO-1.5 firmware does not comply, and nor does the display panel. |

In the discussion on the blog announcement, it was asked if it would be possibly to purchase a new motherboard to upgrade a XO-1 to an XO-1.5. Is this possible? 174.27.20.155 03:09, 31 December 2010 (UTC)
- We have briefly tested XO-1.5 motherboards in XO-1 cases for major deployments. If you are a major deployment, please contact your deployment support team at OLPC regarding this, to determine what you need to order and what procedures are available. If you are an individual XO owner, then sorry but we don't have any immediate plans to make small quantities of motherboards available for upgrade. . --Quozl 01:56, 3 January 2011 (UTC)

- It is still not clear, but you probably mean the VESA BIOS Extensions standard. If so, the short answer is no. The long answer is that there are several components involved in a video display system, and while the VX855 can comply with VBE 2.0, the XO-1.5 firmware does not comply, and nor does the display panel.
