Projects: Haitian Kreyòl and Cambodian Khmer localization; documentation; language support (keyboards, IMEs, fonts); San Francisco Bay Area bid for PyCon2010; Illinois HB5000, The Children's Low-Cost Laptop Act; Open Source Management; all of the functions necessary for the success of the Laptop that are out of scope for OLPC:

  • A public discussion about what real education would be in a world of Freedom and near-zero costs for information, software, and communications, and of free peoples
  • A fresh analysis of all renewable power options in forms appropriate to remote and impoverished villages everywhere
  • The same for Internet connections, including connectivity in dense forest and mountainous terrain
  • A microfinance plan for supporting renewable electric power and Internet in village schools, with local business opportunities to pay back the loans
  • A new program of teacher education that not only teaches what we know about learning, but uses it
  • Content in local languages
  • A way for students with XOs to communicate with the world in safety
  • Support for collaboration between schools
