I'm a computer guy who helps people use computers. This leaves me with many strong opinions about UI issues and many other details. My own web page is also a wiki and gives another way to contact me.
- Welcome to the olpc wiki! Let me know if you have questions as you navigate around, or about where new materials and ideas should go. Sj 17:50, 16 October 2006 (EDT)
- Dear Nitpicker
- For some reason they never taught us about Wiki etiquette when I attended elementary school long decades ago. <g> Therefore it is only with some unease that I move a stranger's text from one page to another without advanced permission. Thank you for raising the issue of the Maine laptop program on Educational_ideas and arguing for removal of topics to other pages. I started pointing at germane articles on Teaching,_Institutional_and_Professional_Barriers and so was pleased to insert your signed remarks into the appropriate part of that "spinoff" page. There are other First World laptop trials of lesser scope all of us can also examine there, too. -Docdtv 12:51, 15 December 2006 (EST)
re: pre-literate
The pages you started for pre-literate are quite good. now we need a portal page that lists pre-literate, just-literate, interactive, and other categories, with a brief description of how far each has gotten.
Some olpc-maintained pages are editable by anyone, and don't require any membership. The talk pages don't need to have perfect english; the people asking questions should simply be pointed to the right parts of the wiki to do the most good. Sj 22:23, 17 October 2006 (EDT)
