OLPC Mongolia
My experience creating content for OLPC Mongolia
- GeoQuiz Mongolia: a geography puzzle game. Students name each of the aimags of Mongolia.
- SocialCalc: a spreadsheet and graphing tool. I translated labels in the activity and created new examples for my lesson plans. Batkhuu Ichinkhorloo translated these lesson plans into the Mongolian language.
- Map Activity - I incorporated a Mongolian language translation into my Map activity.
Gogo.mn UB Map
In November 2009, I sent a package with my resume, Mongolian language descriptions of my projects, and my business card to gogo.mn offices in Ulaanbaatar.
It was received by an engineer at gogo.mn and he sent me an e-mail, asking if I could work on their zipcode system. I put together a few ways for them to reduce the number of points so they could display their zipcode map files. Since then, gogo.mn has created a number of zipcodes and they **do not** run my code. But if you go to http://stat.gogo.mn/staticcontents/map/v2/js/ggmap.js you can still see the functions still are written there.
function biasPoint(p1, p2) and function compressAndMovePts(allPoints, ratio)
HappyCamel
I have created a travel map website and photo-promoting website for HappyCamel.com , a Ulaanbaatar-based trekking travel company
I was interested in traveling to Mongolia, so I spent time creating layers and interactive maps for the company. Recently, I was asked to update the maps and I did so.
