Laos is one of the poorest countries in asia. It should be a challenge not to ignor the poorest of the poor. People in Laos don't have much money but people are smiling and have an open heart.

The Wikipedia in lao language and script does not really exist. There are not much computer in this country. The wikipedia will not be a useable lexica in mai 2007 if it is only a voluntiar work.
Salaries in laos are low compared with european or american revenues. A local office should be opened. In this office translation work should be coordinated. Salaries are low in laos - translation costs not much.
Content
Most of the content has to be developed or adapted. There are regions without internet. Some content should be delived with the hardware.

The Children for normal don't have many books.

There are not much maps available.

Soundfiles of all languages spoken in Laos (there are many)
Agricultural Knowledge
Slash and burn makes lots of problems. Knowledge can help to keep nature. Landslides are already a big problem.
