OLPC Asia BaseCamp 2013

OLPC BaseCamp 2013 is a 100% community-driven gathering of people who care about education and the use of technologies to enable learning for children in disadvantaged communities. Every participant can be an active contributor to this mission. When there are dialogues, perspectives sharing and opportunities to work with like-minded people, we may reach a tipping point.

1 General Agenda

       1.1 Where is the schedule?
       1.2 Does the agenda allow for any free time in the evenings (or do we have something planned each night)?
       1.3 Will some sessions be recorded and replayed?

2 What I should bring?

     2.1 Do I need a laptop?
     2.2 I can bring my XO device(s)
     2.2 Power supply (sockets/adapters/extension codes)
     2.3 Internet

3 Sessions 4 Participation beyond the Summit

       4.1 Will there be a video channel so I can watch Keynotes (or those from other locations)?
       4.2 Where I can find twitter feed on the basecamp?

5 Meals and Social Events

       5.1 I see you have meals listed – is there someplace special I go if I have food allergies?
       5.2 What if I want to host a social event?
       5.3 I'm bringing my spouse/kids with me, will they be able to join me during evening events (specifically meals)?
       5.4 I’m a minor so will I be able to take part in the social events? Will my guardian?

7 Immigration/Visas for the BaseCamp

       7.1 I need the address where I'm staying for my visa application
       7.2 I need an invitation letter for the airport

8 Hotels/Hostels 9 Getting There

       9.1 How will I be sure to catch a shuttle to the venue?
       9.2 Is there somewhere to hang out on Friday?
       9.3 Do you have recommendations for mobile data/voice service providers?
       9.4 How much money should I bring for meals and taxi?
