Our activation server is now off. To turn off the security system of an OLPC XO-1, XO-1.5, XO-1.75, or XO-4 laptop, install our persistent developer key firmware.

Our virtual server hosting activation.laptop.org has been turned off. Leases and developer keys are no longer available.
Our antitheft.laptop.org server remains running. Queries to this server are seen from about 1000 laptops each month, out of three million manufactured.

Production of new OLPC XO laptops ceased in 2017.
Due to cost and declining demand, we plan to turn off activation.laptop.org, the web app that gives out leases and developer keys for OLPC XO laptops.
If any organisation wishes to fund maintenance of this app, please contact us.

Our persistent developer key firmware was made available to disable the security system. This makes our activation server unnecessary.
