some notes

Working on a support tracking database. Here are the items we want to capture:

  1. Where deployed, Country
  2. Where deployed, City/Town
  3. Where deployed, School
  4. Date deployed
  5. Date record created (today's date)
  6. Current location/owner (olpc support, quanta, person's name)
  7. Product Serial Number
  8. Board version (B2, B3, B4, C, R1.0)
  9. NAND Image (482)
  10. OFW Image (q2c18)
  11. Wireless firmware image (110.16.p0)
  12. (other drivers?? School server specific drivers?)
  13. Battery type
  14. Battery Serial number
  15. Problem statement (from the end user), text
  16. Actual problem found, text
  17. Root Cause, text
  18. Bug(s) in trac (could be more than one)
  19. Resolution

Knowledge Base

I'd like to put together a knowledge base to be linked from the support pages. I'd like this to be a well-organized combination of FAQ and How-To answers. Ideally items from bug tracking and from the product returns database could be directly entered into the knowledge base system so we don't have duplicate these items.

First I need a tool or need to know how to use this wiki for that purpose.

Adminship

Dear Kim,

You are now a wiki administrator. Please use your powers wisely to keep the wiki clean. Please avoid: protecting pages, blocking people (as opposed to bots) or any IP ranges for more than a month, and deleting too boldly. Please do: scan special:recentchanges for vandalism, use your reversion powers (view a user's special:contributions to revert changes to a set of pages at a time), and help other users out when they need help. For more help about being an admin, see the help page on the MetaWiki.
