Carly was able to communicate after years of not being able to speak by typing on a laptop and expressing what it was like to be autistic. No one even knew she was aware of vocabulary until she starting typing words on the computer.

I hope that OLPC can benefit these and other children or people like them wherever they are. Maybe if we can connect these people to affordable, usable laptops or computers, the lives of many people including those around them can greatly improve.

I created this account after seeing two videos on cnn.com for an autistic girl helped by a laptop and a 12 year-old boy with dysgraphia who created a charity to help other children use laptops for school.

Michael's grades rose dramatically and his writing hand didn't have to hurt after he began using a laptop. He wrote businesses and manufacturers for them to donate laptops and software which after children are trained on, they get to keep. These are children in a Transitional Living Center.
