Next test plan

Extend the number of nodes to over 50 and test the following:

  • Chat
  • Changing buddy properties and making those changes visible across the rest of the nodes
  • Share large files and measure the time it takes to share a file with all other nodes in a dense environment scenario, the overhead of the protocol and a comparison with the time and overhead of TCP.

The plan is to add another 15 nodes (B4) to those already hanging from the ceiling. This involves the following:

  • about 3 power strips
  • 15 ethernet cables
  • 15 USB-to-ethernet adapters
  • 15 slots in switches

Previous test and results

So far, Cerebro has been tested on up to 27 XOs. Here are some [preliminary test results http://lyme.media.mit.edu/cerebro/index.php/Experimental_results].
