Introduction

Starting with operating system Update.1 build 700, 'base software' design does not include any activities.

Deployment staff working with OLPC staff and local volunteers, will develop a core base of activities to be installed on the XO-1 Laptop during deployment.


This page is for developing the list of activities for the OLPC Peru deployment. Which currently is strictly controlled by the Peruvian 'ministry of education' administration with coordination of OLPC staff. Currently, there is no mechanism to gather/collect community volunteer input about deployment activities. So below is

Peru deployment

The OLPC Peru deployment (as of March'2008, estimated to be over 250,000) units will be shipped to Peru with just base system software, and no activities.

The following are activities under discussion to be installed onto laptops during installation. (Please indicate who has approved inclusion)

  • Journal
  • Read
  • Record
  • Browse
  • TamTam (entire bundle)
  • Measure
  • Distance
