hi,

typing on this wiki with my newly returned xo. i have big fingers for this keyboard, but am learning to adapt to it. sorry for the typoes..

this is the account i'll use for lobster pool restaurant related olpc interactions. [1]

i'm planning to make some xo's part of the ambiance at the restaurant, partly to increase visibility of the olpc project, and perhaps also part of how some biz gets done around here, e.g. webcam marketing stuff and perhaps some monitoring of operations.

looking to meet any/all with some degee of clue about the xo primarily and olpc secondarily.

some bits on my list (all thoughts/suggestions welcome):

- get hand crank or human-power variant cuz everyone seems to wants to see one.

- hook up solar power, pref. w./ battery so can last overnight or at least through dinner. wind? hydro?

- learn how to update base install (possible to flash a new image onto xo?) create lpr variant that;

-- seamonkey?

-- auto-connects to retaurant's free wifi

-- boots to browser open to page of my choosing? weather/radar for the area initially

--- pages of my choosing? tabbed browsing? also to our site? feedback submission form? things to do in the area paage? restaurant wiki when live?

- webcam for sunsets, impromptu music happenings, wave conditions etc.

- weather monitoring station stuff.

- usb power(/data?) hub for guests to use

-- skype phone connection (need connect) with some skype out credits for guests to use for free. (poor cell coverage in our area.
