OLPC UK has established a 100% volunteer organization and platform to support the deployments of XO computers towards solving defined needs in UK schools paired with schools in developing countries.

OLPC UK has gone from glimmer in the eye of Daniel Drake to a organisation:

  • with financial backing for a school pilot
  • actively pursuing registered non-profit status in the UK
  • with a vibrant online community of OLPC and SugarLabs contributors
  • meeting regularly in person

OLPC Contributor Program Proposal

Team

The team will be ably supported by all OLPC UK participants; details of all contributors can be found in the Members section of the OLPC UK wiki.

Community Relationship

OLPC UK views the larger OLPC / SugarLabs community as a valuable source of advice. We aim to be a significant contributor to the community as well.

People

Our members are the most important part of our contribution to the community. We are proud of our members' work for the ongoing pedagogical, design, and software engineering volunteer efforts of OLPC and SugarLabs.

Materials

We are collecting information from around the web into a set of browsable resources for pilots in developed nations.
