This was an idea proposed by Sven Aerts to develop and unlock the Low Carbon Economy Potential or "CO2e-Certificates" or "Kyoto Protocol"-Potential of OLPC's projects and mission. It briefly had its own site proposed at OLPCO2e.org; however the project as a whole did not proceed.
Some highlights of the proposed, now defunct, idea:
- It was frequently connected to the UN goal of Universal Primary Education by 2015, and to other UN programs such as Agenda 21, without prelude.
- An "Animated OLPCO2e Assistant" was discussed and designed
- A Quality Control Panel was developed for the proposal
- It had its own OLPCO2e Virtual/Wiki Office... on a different wiki... and a separate Discussion Group.
- It even had its own "staff & Kernel Team" wiki. Just like some organizations we could name.
- It briefly had its own Google Calendar and office hours.
