I am sure other people will add improvements, but what I saw today is thorough, avoids many pitfalls, shows the whys and wherefores briefly (short messages are favored Up There I have been told), and presents a clear step-by-step path. Thank you, Mel! Yamaplos 00:32, 17 January 2009 (UTC)

Start with a community governance body

This is a bit premature. There are currently no policy, governance, or coordinating bodies within the community, save for a few regional groups. Start with a community advisory group with elected members who keep up with major OLPC issues, define community policy, serve as ombudsmen to OLPC, and submit recommendations and points for discussion to the Board.

In the process, work out ways to organize community-wide votes; try organizing an election committee for a similar occasion; define community membership and suffrage. Then you will be in a position of strength to revisit this proposal. 18.85.49.125 01:39, 23 January 2009 (UTC)
