This article is a stub. You can help the OLPC project by expanding it.

The OLPC ships with Gnash, an open source implementation of Flash. It currently doesn't have all the features of Adobe's more common, but legally restricted, unshippable, and non-open implementation.

As an individual, you can install Adobe's flash from an rpm in RestrictedFormats.

Gnash

See Gnash.

Codecs

Flash uses video codecs to decode and show video. Some have patent issues, so it isn't legal for us to ship them. YouTube, for instance, aparently uses h.263.

The rest of this page is rather old...

Will the OLPC have a Flash Player, RealPlayer or OpenQuicktime?
