USB update

A USB update means to use a USB drive to update an OLPC XO laptop.

The concept is broad:

  • using a USB drive to install a release, which erases all existing data on the XO,
  • using a USB drive to update or upgrade from an old release to a new release, which preserves most of the existing data on the XO,
  • using a USB drive to reflash firmare, and;
  • using a USB drive to add activities,

Activities

Prepare the USB drive with a set of activities, insert the USB drive into the XO, open the Journal, select the USB drive icon, then click on each activity.
