Connecting Albanian schools via satellite broadband

As part of this government initiative, ASTRA2Connect is applied to install satellite broadband connection for app. 400 schools in the rural areas of Albania without access to terrestrial broadband networks. The service is offered via our distribution partner, StarSat International and was selected by telecom incumbent Albtelecom as a partner to deliver broadband connections to schools in Albania. With 100% availability all over the footprint of the satellite, ASTRA2Connect is the only technology that can actually provide broadband even in the remotest areas of the country. Without large investments in setting-up an infrastructure, the service is immediately available for everyone – and does not cost a fortune.
