thoughts and experiences

15th August, 2007 - 60 years of Indian Independence

I went back with my XO to the NGO in Delhi with whom I had been actively involved with Amba Foundation .

Some photographs -

15th August was India's 60th Independence Day. Kids from the Mandawali Faizalpur slum clusters celebrated it at their school at Amba Foundation

Although , through grateful donations from donors, Amba has a few old computers......

The XO caught their imagination like anything! I just told them to see what the eye does...

The XO, unlike the other computers at the center, allowed them to take photographs and capture their friends performing in the function. Rahul, age 8, has been dressed up as Lord Krishna (a Hindu God)

Rahul was then dressed up as a Muslim and then as Gandhi(as shown in current picture). Unity in diversity, and equality of all religions and communities was celebrated. Indian spirit is a true reflection of such unity within diversity - and everything was captured by kids with the help of the XO
